Business Development Manager, India

Did you know that more than one billion people in South and East Asia have insufficient financial data history? For many, this makes it difficult to secure loans and other services, because they don't have traditional financial records like credit scores.

Jeff is a data-driven financial marketplace that connects people with the most suitable financial products via using alternative data. Our goal is to unlock financial services for the underbanked across the emerging markets in Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Launched in 2020, Jeff has quickly grown into a 45+ people team across 8 countries. To date, we have attracted $5 Million in funding from business angels and prominent Venture Capital funds, expanding into 4 markets & aiming to enter 2 more in the nearest future.

More than 8 million people have been serviced and more than 60M products have been compared. While doing so, the company has achieved profitability & is approaching the $10 Million Annual revenue mark - and we are just getting started! šŸš€

As we enter the next phase of our journey and set our sights on the incredibly massive market opportunity in India, we are looking for a versatile, hands-on Business Development Manager to play a significant role in our India market entry.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying partnership opportunities with local financial institutions, primarily in the consumer finance sector
  • Owning the partnership pipeline and end-to-end sales process, bringing B2B prospects from the discovery stage all the way to active cooperation
  • Identifying partnership opportunities with marketing and lead generation partners - including but not limited to affiliate marketing companies, telecommunications operators, large consumer services and applications operators, and more
  • Adapting the business model and go-to-market strategy in line with best practices locally in India
  • Playing an important role in advising and guiding Engineering and Product stakeholders for optimal product localization
  • Upon reaching the necessary traction, starting to scale the local team
  • Closely collaborating with the senior leadership in the global parent company across all matters and functions crucial for the business in India
  • From time to time, working together with local lawyers and advisors on compliance and administrative matters
  • Serving as the local director in line with Laws and Regulations that are applicable to our business in India
  • Having a voice in all things go-to-market and marketing strategy crafting and implementation

You have:

  • At least 3 years of past experience in the financial services industry, specifically in consumer credit, financial comparison, or loan product brokerage
  • Every problem has a solution mentality
  • Eagerness to work hands-on with tasks large and small. At Jeff, we are operators at heart, and we are looking for exactly the same type of specialist to take on this role
  • Preferably good understanding / ideally past experience with digital marketing, particularly with affiliate marketing, performance marketing or mobile marketing
  • At least 1 year of experience as in Account Manager, Sales Director, Business Development Executive, or similar role that involved a lot of hands-on B2B account management work
  • A mentality that data-driven decision-making is the way to approach business decisions at all times
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • And most importantly - eagerness to learn & develop
